marine_man
I'm a big supporter of Dual Pro chargers by Charging Systems International. Any dealer should be able to order you one or have one on hand.marine_man
DRH1175
I found the best price online. There are few battery stores online do a search for Dual Pro chargers and they will come up on Google. There are some good deals. Otherwise Cabela's, or Gander Mountain. I would recomend the 3 bank though. I have 2 trolling batteries and my starter and have my 3 bank 30 amp dual pro. It is nice to keep all three fully charged. Many people think cause their main motor has an alterator in it not to charge that battery. However I have found with electronics, lights, live wells on and only a quick jaunt into the landing this to not be the case. The starter never really gets charged. also if you can keep your batteries fully charged all the time they will last much longer. It will automatically keep all three fully charged and ready to go. I installed a plug in the bow. I pull it into the garage and simply plug in the boat. Slick is all I can say!!!
marine_man
Quote:I would recomend the 3 bank though.I'd agree on this also... it's nice having the piece of mind that when all the lights are green on the charger you're good to go. No wondering about if listenting to the radio too long yesterday will cause problems.marine_man
MIKE IN lINO III
My Boat is not that complicated, meaning I don't have a radio/ accessories. Front trolling motor, 24 v w/ two batteries. Front and rear dept finders, livewell, lights and bilge pump. I also have a battery in back that runs the lights and so forth. No electric start motor, yet, 50 hp Merc tiller. Thanks for the info guys. I see the prices vary from place to place on the net. Anyone suggest on vendor over the other?Mike
DRH1175
In your case without electric start I definitly think it would be well worth the 3 bank. Lights, bilge, aerator etc... use juice. It would be money well spent. When I bought my 3 bank I was looking for a 2 bank. I asked the same questions you did and was recomended the 3 bank instead. I went that route and am so glad I did!!! Just look for a good price. Dual Pro has awesome service and will take care of you no matter who you buy from!
