True Believer Question

Can anyone or would anyone tell me how deep a Jointed 10" True Believer actually run on the front eye and the back eye using 30 lb. Fireline?

I think they are supposed to go about 8 feet down casting. Obviously trolling will get it down further. You might want to up your line weight in case a biggie hits it.

That's on the top eye... bottom eye you can run slow on the surface to 4 feet maybe, depending on retrieve speed.

I never run anything under 80# on my casting reels and usually spool up with at least 100# when I am going to be trolling.

Hiya -

On the front eye, a 10" Believer will run down 3-4 feet on a cast. A little deeper trolled, but not a lot. On the rear eye, with 40' of line out a 10" Believer will run down 12-13 feet. With 100, about 18'. Those are with 80# line or so, so you may get a little more depth with #30 Fireline, but not a lot. A couple extra feet perhaps. Want to be careful with line that light however. I know #30 sounds like heavy line but it's not for big baits. 30 is light enough to snap the stuff if you backlash on a cast. No stretch, so no forgiveness at all.
