Genofish
I have a 2003 Yamaha 90hp 2 stroke on a 2003 17' Lund Angler and the boat is rated for a 115hp. How much would i gain by upgrading to a 115hp?? My current motor runs great and idles down excellent and I can reach 35 mph with a light load.
PerchJerker
There is minimal diff between a 115 and 90. 2-3 mph top end if even that, more power and acceleration but not substantial. The differences would be more noticable with heavy loads in the boat, less noticable with light or normal loads. In most cases, upgrading like you're talking about doing is a BIG loser from a financial perspective and probably a disappointment from a performance perspective.Sorry to rain on your parade but I didn't want to sugar-coat it. Since you said your 90 runs great, keep it or upgrade to a whole new boat/motor package.
JohnMickish
I was going to say basically the same thing. What you gain in performance will be substantially lost by the $4000 it will take to trade up.
