River Fishing

There has been alot of talk of guys going down to the Mississippi and other rivers. What are some things that are different from a lake to a river?? and what are some changes you guys make from fishing in lake to fishing in rivers???

Biggest difference for me is the current which varies from river to river and even from one place to another on the same river - has all kinds of implications for presentations. Boat control and launching and landing are related issues as well. I just lost a prop on Pool 2 in a backwater this weekend and that has never happened to me on a lake...although it could.

Primary other difference for me is the species I am fishing for - on rivers it is typically smallies and most other places it is largemouth.
