flathead tackle?

What is a good set up for flatheads? Also what size hooks are best? I have a abu 6500 with 65# power pro, the rod is a cabelas cat king but it is only rated for 10-30# line. Do I need something heavier?

Some will say you should beef things up....but that setup will be able to handle Flatheads for sure.

Kevin pretty well hit it on the nose. If you plan on fishing for flathead you must accept the fact that it takes time to learn. Everyone must learn about the fish and where they catch them by way of a lot of time and learning from mistakes.

To many fishermen give up on flathead due to frustration or impatience and never experience the thrill of BIG cats pulling their string.

I think more people should fish for bass and walleyes anyways.
