Canoe motor mount

Hey guys lookin for some help. I have an older aluminum motor mount and had it connected to my old town canoe. My question is, is there a better mottor mount to attach to the canoe or a better way to attach mount to canoe? Right now there are 2 bolt with nuts fastening them together. I have holes drilled through the heavier black plastic on the top. Where I have it drilled, and how I have it attached is a little weak. Can I beef it up somehow? What are some of my options? Have any of you done anything similar to this? Appreciate any help you can toss my way. Thanx

Old Town has a motor mount that fits most of their models. It may even be an aftermarket or third party vendor. Check their site and see how it attaches anyway, might give you some inspiration.
