Mankato Gathering

Think its time to start planning a GTG.

Last year we did Mankato at the Land of Memories Campground and boat ramp. That was the weekend of June 24th.

I think we should do something similar this year. The camping worked great there. There is lots of good water to fish.

What do you guys think? Same weekend? Same place? How does that work for everyone? Any other thoughts, opinions, or comments or welcome as this is a talk (brainstorming) session.

In case ya don't know... we're going flatheading. And they were biting very well last year about this time.

I got these 2 Flatties (21 & 22lb respectively) courtesy of the gathering last year.

Gee, I don't know, Cris. Some of the guys I met there last year were kinda shady. I fit right in and that worries me.

I have to work that weekend and we might be short staffed so I don't think I would be able to find anyone to cover for me.

How about the weekend of the 16th?

i missed last years kato gathering due to work too. this year i won't miss it. either of those weekends sound good to me. have boat, will fish!

Ah yes, the birthplace of Flathead Pimps and Tom's first Flat.

I'm sure I'll find my way there one way or another. Hopefully the dreaded fuzzy full moon won't be out again.

OK... we'll tentatively plan on the 16th. We've got our Cat League meeting tonight to set up League nights so we'll try and get everything to work.
