Permanone (tick repellant)

Has anyone used permanone? I hear it works great for repelling ticks. You spray it on your clothes and let it try for a day or so. I guess the ticks stay as far away from you as possible when you have it on and I have read that it kills them if they touch your clothes. Just curious if anyone can vouch for its effectiveness. Also, I am wondering if you have to worry about it melting your skin if you get caught in the rain. I am planning on giving it a try for mushrooming. I got Lyme's disease a couple of years ago so now I am very paranoid.

I have used Permanone several(maybe even many) years ago, I didn't even know it was still around. The stuff works great. Spray it on your boots and pant legs and you will be tick free. Yes it does kill them. I quit using it though. The stuff I used had so many warnings on the can that I just wasn't comfortable. I think I suffered from that old "fear of my first born will have three eyes and glow in the dark syndrome". My other thought is if it is that good and that safe more people would use it and you would see it everywhere.

I have heard it is very toxic in high doses. But the product that I found at fleet farm only has like .05% permanone in it. Maybe it is being marketed again at a lower percentage. I heard as long as it doesn't come into contact with your skin you should be fine. That's why you only apply it to your clohtes. Who knows. Hopefully I live I guess.

I've been using it for tick repellant for many years. I also use it on the dog. It is extremely effective in keeping the ticks off. I spray my shoes, clothes and socks, and even my hat at times.

In addition to ticks, it takes care of mosquitos and other biting insects as well.

So far, the third eye in my forehead has proven to be useful for hunting, but getting sunglasses to fit has proven difficult.

Well I guess I will give it a try. A third eye might be kind of cool.

I have used it and it does work very,very well. You need to keep it off your skin. Read the directions and be careful and it will take care of the tick problem.
