Kyle
Ive never bow hunted turkeys before. The DNR says I have to get a permit for the last two time periods for an area that has at least 50 permits given. Can anyone tell me how to figure out how many permits were given in an area this year? The DNR has maps on last year, but I'm thinking those wont really help me for this year. Another thing, since Ive never even hunted turkeys before, how do I find a good spot? When do I scout? What time of day? I know almost nothing about the sport of turkey hunting, so any help would be greatly appreciated!thanks
Surface Tension
Go to the DNR site and click on Hunting/Turkey/2007 Spring Turkey Hunt. You'll find a PDF with all the Dates, Permit Areas, and Quotas. You have to gain access and Scout BEFORE SEASON. After the season has started there'll be hunters in the woods, its not right that you scout then.
