GlassEyeangler
I got out last night with my daughter, and we actually caught some fish. Seems the water temp is on the rise, which I assume is making the pannies bite a little more. We were fishing in the mouth of the cove on the north side in about 9 to 11 fow. After losing 6 minnows very quickly, I put on a little smaller hook, and tipped it with a grub. Got a nice crappie (about 8 inches), and it only ate half the bait. The other half went to a perch...yuck. My daughter and I pulled up 5 or 6 Sunny's - pretty small though, so I went back to the minnows. Another nice crappie - close to 10 inches this time...not too shabby! Just before packing up to leave, something hit my minnow hard. Then it hit again...a few reels later a nice 1.5 to 2 lb bass surfaced. I'm personally not a bass fisherman, but they do put up a nice fight. Knowing the season is closed, I popped the hook out of it's mouth in the water and let it go. Nice outing!
