Walleye One
Is anybody planning on driving out on the Metro area ice this weekend?
wastewaterguru
Prior is pretty rough on top but still over a foot. Both accesses on the Northeast end of the lake are pretty torn up....multiple vehicles have broken through by the accesses. I would not drive an SUV, but small passenger cars are still OK. Weather in the 40's for the next three days.....might be the end of the driving this year.
Guest
I wouldn't suggest driving out there at all this weekend. The ice is getting weaker and weaker. A lot of trucks are going through in some lakes and temps just keep getting warmer. You might have to find a spot that's within walking distance unless you bring a snowmobile or 4-wheeler.Good Fishing, Matt.
Gonzo
Last weekend I drove out on Wayzata bay on Tonka. Althought the ice seemed OK, it sure wasn't what I'm used to for this time of year. I doubt I'll drive my P/U around any metro lakes the rest of the ice season.
