Can anybody tell me how big of a motor can I put on a 78 17ft alumacraft boat. The tag must be gone where it says how bit it will handle I can't find it anywhere on the boat. It is a tiller model.

tiller and about 5 ft wide

I would say between 50hp and 75hp tiller. Older boats were rated less then newer.
