Minnesota River

Anyone fish the Minnesota River yet this year? how soon after the melt to the flats become active?

Usually around mid-May they start.

Looks like people are getting itchy. The river is dropping very nicely...lets hope it continues. One of my good morel spots was under water last year just before walleye opener but when the morels start poppin, its time to look for mudeyes too.

Lets just hope the river behaves and we don't get a lot of rain.

morels and flatheads....i can't wait to look for the shrooms and get out after the cats. definately got the itch.

I cant wait to get out and scout some spots. as the water goes down who knows what new snags will be there. thanks for the tips. Im thinking about entering the king of the cats contest.
