hawgTime
Vexilar owners: Which would you rather forget at home, your Vexilar or your fishing rod? I already know the answer.I think I had a vex-panic attack last week when I fished Mille Lacs. I drove 2 hours, paid $7 access, got set-up, turned my vexilar on and after looking at my battery level indicator discovered it only had 1/4 charge. My heart started racing, vision blurred, palms began to sweat!!!! What's happening to me? VCD. Vexilar Compulsive Disorder. Can't leave home without it.vexTimemike
Guest
IM THINKING I WOULD RATHER FORGET THE VEXLAR EVEN THOUGH I DON'T HAVE ONE BUT YOU CAN'T FISH WITHOUT A RODKEEP YOUR STICK ON THE ICE
Steve Foss
Luckily, a good Vex battery on 1/4 charge might last you a day, or most of it. I've run them for over two days without needing a charge, and have fished for hours on end with 1/4 charge. Don't know how others have done. Know what you mean about the Vex, though. Gotta love it.------------------Steve ([email protected])
hawgTime
MonsterWait util you have a vex. Then you will know what I'm talking 'bout. stfcatfishIt did end-up lasting through the evening, but I was very concerned. Thought I might have to pack-up and leave.mike
Steve Foss
If it ever dies completely, disconnect it and put it inside your shirt. A warm battery puts out better than a cold one. I wouldn't recommend putting it next to your propane heater, though. ------------------Steve ([email protected])

Mankato-Ice-Man
Oh ya!Used Lost Stringers Vex Fl-18 last saturday... had mine by Sunday afternoon.Got to use it guite a little today and will never be on the hard water without out it ever again. They may be the most key piece of fishing equipment EVER. The worst part is all the thoughts busting through from the last few years of all those days when fishing what hit and miss... what could have been with a Vex to help decipher what was really going on! What could have been! Oh well. These babies are as good as gold no matter what the price. If you cant afford an FL18, check this site for someones used FL8 or straight from Vex to get a reconditioned one (199.99). You will never fish without one again!------------------Born to Fish, Forced to Work!
Cyberfish
I would definitely rather have the rod! Imagine spending the day watching your FL8 loaded with fish, and not being able to jig for em? Cyb www.gemfishing.org
Poutmaster
At least if you forget your rod, you can stop by the nearest bait store and buy a new one!
Poutmaster
Hawg time - I also carry an extra Vex battery around with me to avoid the scenario you encountered. It's a great insurance policy for 24.99!
