BLACKJACK
With an approaching snow storm, I'm remembering one time when I sat out in my portable in a wet, heavy snow and the crappies bit like mad. When is the best time to get out fishing, 1/2 day before the storm, when the storm hits, or during the storm? When have other people had luck? wastewaterguru
I had pretty good luck last night 48hours before the storm)on Prior in about 22 feet of water. I caught about 40 or so in about 4 hours. Most of the fish were below average in size though. I only had 6 keepers.
Ode
Blackjack,I see you and I are from the same area. Have you heard anything about Games lake, as far as crappies?? I am heading out the door soon and don't really know if I should try around here or Minnewaska. Thanks
BLACKJACK
Ode, no reliable reports on Games. I fished it a few times early, had no luck, went to Nest, that petered out too. i drive by Games every day on the way home, more houses are showing up, but they're spread out, especially to the west. Normally they concentrate off the deep 40' hole. Was also thinking of trying Minnewaska tomorrow, early on for a few sunfish, then later for crappies but now with weather approaching I don't know if I want to go 30 miles... Thats why I posted here, was going fishing in the afternoon but if the storm is coming maybe I should try the morning...
