Stupid vexilar wiring question

Going to be running some wiring tomorrow to by bow for the vex. Just want to make sure I am doing this right.

I can run these wires to the battery I have in back and then all I would need is a 9amp fuse...correct?

Is it just that easy or am I missing something.

I think you've got it but, why a 9amp fuse? Vexilar's use less than 1/2 amp. I'd use maybe a 2 or 3 amp fuse for earlier opening in case of a problem.

also make sure your wires arent close to the trolling motor cables, or the radio antenna!

I take that is for interference? Not going to be the transducer cable, just the power cables which I wouldn't think would be an issue......or is it?

With my cable run the power for the tolling motor and bow lights are in that same run. Which also passes under the antenna,(not really close or touching). I these cables are going to be a direct run to the batter so no splicing.

I spliced mine right into the power for the bow mount trolling motor and I have never had a problem. My transducer is on the bow mount. I think the lighter fuse is a good idea.

Well my thinking was/is to run the vex to my multi purpose battery (same as my starting battery).…....not going to splice into the tolling motor due to the fact that next year going to upgrade to a 24volt.

I'm going to have 2 multi purpose batteries on board with the 24volt trolling motor setup. Going to be changing my onboard charger to a 3 bank with 4 batteries (1 starting battery as a backup not connected).

I don't think the vex draws enough power to totally drain that multipurpose battery but that is what the backup is for…..that just incase scenario. So time will tell on that decision I guess.

I'll try the 2-3amp fuse, don't know why I picked 9 I guess.
