Sharpen Your Auger Blades!

2 HP is powerful enough to cut a 10-inch hole. I've seen guys do it often enough without binding. Sharp blades, though. My 3 HP Strikemaster may have more than enough power, and it weighs a fair bit more than a newer lightweight model 2 HP. Oh well, can't complain. Speaking of hand augers, I picked up a used 7-inch Strikemaster Lazer in a pawn shop for $10 and with sharpened blades it cuts like crazy. I use it for early (thin) ice especially, but always bring it along on trips in case the power auger breaks down (never has so far, knock on wood).
