Bigred70
With the problem with the AZ mode, should I buy a vexilar for this season, or should I hold off until it is fixed? I have the FL-8SLT right now with the dual angle transducer. Anyone used the FL-18 with the dual angle? Is it worth the extra $$ over the standard 12 degree? Any info is appreciated. Guest
YES! I knew about the glitch and still bought two units. I am very glad I did and have only experienced the problem once. It is really not that big of deal. I am sure they will get it fixed and we will all forget about the little problem that was nothing. As for the dual beam transducer. I have just the standard 12 on both and I really don't have a need for a tigher cone. Just my opinion though. I really like the crisp image on the fl 18, nice to look at, very clear!ScottS[This message has been edited by ScottS (edited 01-29-2002).]
Skeets
I agree with ScottS, I like my FL-18 also. I just upgraded from the FL-8. The split zoom mode is awesome. I can't wait to try it out on LOW where the fish are always tight to the bottom. Should work great for that.I used it this past weekend in bright sunlight and had no problems veiwing the three colors.
kslipsinker
I picked up a FL-18 a couple of weeks ago. I have experienced the thick bottom thing once, but it wasn't that difficult to allow for it. The zoom is fantastic. I have to remember to look over at the full water column once in a while for fish that are passing by out of the zoom window. The detail is very sharp.------------------
