1000 W "Quiet" Gas Generator for 3 Bank battery charger

74mph

Question

I am looking into buying a generator for the soul purpose of charging up the batteries in my Bassboat when camping in remote locations. My bassboat currently has a standard 3 bank charger that I typical plug in overnight and get a full charge. There are many different generators out there but the 1000 watt "quiet genterators" seem like they would work well as far as size, noise, and gas consumption. The question is will it be enough power to run the battery charger? Would I be able to run the batery charger and potentially some lights? What do you think, I am lost when it comes to electronics.

You get 1000 watts Peak. I think your charger will work great.

For extra stuff you will probably be just fine. For camping light you can't beat a coleman lantern.... it just wouldn't be camping........... without a coleman lantern...

CHECK YOUR CHARGER FOR HOW MANY WATTS IT USES THEN YOU WILL KNOW WHAT YOU NEED. I THINK A 1000 WOULD BE FINE. WE HAVE A CABIN WITH NO ELECTRIC AND WE USE A GEN. I PLUG THE BOAT IN AND IN THE TIME WE HAVE DINNER AND TURN OFF THE GEN FIVE TO SIX HOURS. THE CHARGER SHOWS A FULL CHARGE. I RUN A 24 VOLT.

Heres some simple math to determine amps, watts

Watts,divided by Voltage= Amps

Amps,x Voltage=Watts

So a 1000 Watt generator divided by the plugin of 120 voltage=8.33 Amps.So its a bit more than 1/2 of your standard house breaker on a single line.
