has any body seen or caught one of these brookie/brown hybreds? i've seen a few pics on an iowa outdoors site. they are beautiful. i guess they are very agressive and sterile, like a mule. just wondering if i've got a shot at these when i move to SE MN in a few years. cool.gif

I haven't caught one yet, but it's on my list of things to attempt. They're good-looking, aggressive, and typically don't get very big but there are exceptions to every rule.

Fish where brook trout and brown trout are found and eventually you're bound to find a tiger trout.

The state record was caught in southeast Minnesota. Oddly enough it was from a stream that isn't known for holding brookies, but being a tributary to a larger river can make for interesting catches.

I have managed to catch 3 of them in SE MN. Interesting thing is that I caught them all over about a 5 year period in the 80's. They were all caught from different streams so it's not like one hatch populated a stream with a few of them.
