yeah, we can get together whenever you want and i'll show u the ropes. i just got a couple of my friends into fly fishing, and none of their dads are into it, so it looks like i'll be teaching quite a few people this year. whats real fun is going out to otter in the middle of summer and catching em off of hoppers twitched by the bank, they absolutely explode on it. its pretty much like topwater fishing for bass. that was fun on a 4 wt. what kind of rod do you have? just post whenever u want to go. about the White Pine ive caught quite a few brookies out of there and spotted a really big brown cruising the shallows too. i can take you out there too if u want. wow! theres been quite a few people looking at this post

Yeah thatd be cool if you could show me the ropes. I dont think i fished the right area on the white pine because i just fished on 33 in that parking area. Im the only one in my family that fishes too except my granpa but he only likes to fish on vermilion so around here i am on my own. If you ever want to get out on the Midway i could take you to some areas that my friends have caught fish and we could fish there. Maybe the second weekend of the season. O yeah i think my fly rod is a 6 weight martin, I also have like 6 spinning rods too and i spooled one with 4 pound test for trout.

sorry i couldnt email you, i just got a new internet service the other day and have yet to figure out how to email. So do you know where hwy. 1 meets the munger bike trail in Carlton? If so you can meet me there any time. give me a cell phone number so i can call you. im thinking around 11 or noon would be fine, since this is the warmest time of day and the most productive this early in the season. i'll be riding my bike since i dont have my license yet ( ill get it next november), and since the bike trail runs practically through my back yard in twin lakes township. i'd recommend bringing your ultralight and a few of the spinners i talked about in sizes 0 or 1. spinners will definitely be the most productive since shes still running fairly high and cloudy. i'll be fishing spinners too, its too early to fish flys. we'll probably talk before saturday though, so you can tell me your thoughts on the plan. my new email is [email protected]. you can email me, but ill either have to try and figure out this stupid email thing or post it on here in order to talk to you.

EatSleepFish,

You should have mail wink.gif. I just wanted to verify which road hwy 1 is because im not good with road numbers. Is it the one that runs right through Carlton? If i parked in the bike trail parking lot would it be too long of a walk? I dont need waders do I?

I got some rubber boots that go about up to my knees so i will bring those. Should I bring some nightcrawlers? I got a few left from catfishing monday but could pick up some more. I also picked up a couple more of the spinners you mentioned so i got about 6 now.

hey guys thinking about going out this weekend. Not real familiar with the trout streams up and around here. I am from cromwell, but never been fishing trout up here. I go down to Wisconsin every year to fish in the kinnikinic river and catch a lot of nice browns. I would like to go out and try the cricks around the carlton county area.

Any help will be appreciated

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
