I am looking to buy a new sonar/gps unit for my boat. Not a lot of space to put a gps puck so I have been looking at the Lowrance 334i or the 522i. Can anybody give me some feedback? If you have one, how does it work for you? Also interested in hearing what gps units everyone else is running.

Well seeing as it looks like I will be fishing against you this summer, I think you should go with a section of rope and a sinker on the end and mark a line n the rope every foot.

In all seriousness I would do my best to find somewhere to put the puck. I have heard that the internal ones arent as accurate or gather the satalites as fast.... but thats just what I heard.

LOL .... I'm running such an old unit right now I may as well use the rope trick.

In the tournaments we will be fishing out of my partners Ranger. He runs two units .. a 332i in dash and 334i mounted on the dash so that he can run one on sonar and the other on gps. He tells me that the 334i is off slightly at times but not at others. I am with you too Deitz, the puck would be nice but I might have to get creative to mount it. I have also heard similiar feedback to what CB said and that is if you download the updates from Lowrance you minimize the problems. What kinda unit do you run??? Anyone else have any feedback?
