ChapstickCharlie
Maybe someone out there can help. If a resort on Lake of the Woods offers Bombadier transportation to the houses, does that mean they will have better fishing than a resort that just paves the roads? And while we are on this subject, is there one side of the lake that is hotter than the other? Thanx ahead.Choo Choo
hunt4food
Not at all. The "Bombardier transportation" has become a sort of novelty up there. Many resorts have similar vehicles that have been constructed to be able to navigate the deep snow and slush. I am not sure about your other question regarding what side of the lake is best. I can tell you that 74% of the annual Sauger harvest is through the winter fishing based on the south shore. The other 24% is throught the Summer south shore fishing. The remaining 2% are harvested on the Rainy River and the Northwest Angle based Summer fishery. This information was obtained directly from the MN DNR.
