Mississippi River Catch & Release only.

Recommended Posts

If you haven't seen the new fishing regs yet, go to the DNR HSOforum and take a look. The Mississippi is totally catch and release and there are 47 lakes that now have a 48" minimum on them. Mostly lakes in the northern part of the state, however, it is a start. While I don't think we will ever see Catch and Release put into effect, the larger minimum limits are a huge step in the right direction. I would hope that the DNR continues to expand this to new lakes every year until we see a 48 or 50 inch minimum on all muskie waters within the state.

i am well aware of the new size regs and think they are a fantastic start. i am just a fan of the catch and release only policy that the mississippi went to. hopefully it goes over well and influences the dnr to do it to a few other places. cool.gif
