early pike question

does anyone know if there is a season for pike or can you start fishin them as soon as the ice is out?

they open on fishing opener with the walleyes in minnesota inland lakes.

You could road trip to either S.Dak or N.Dak for a day.

Iowa Would be a shorter road trip if your in rochester and 39.50 for a seasonal license that runs from jan. 10 - jan. 10 is a heck of a deal. The walleye season is open as well if thats of any interest as well.

tanman....i got the BEST bet for you early season...MISSISSIPPI BACKWATERS! As soon as the ice is out, you can get down there, get the boat in (if needed) and start fishing for them!!

We hit the Wabasha area heavily in the spring and let me tell you, once you figure it out, it is well worth it!!!

We saw some fish over 40" last spring and put quite a few mid-upper 30's into the boat, plus there are a ton of eaters (under 28-30") if that is what you are looking for.
