It's hard to believe with all this snow the opener is ONLY 43 days away!! Can't wait to get out and walk the banks again. Anyone have any unique traditions they do for the opener?

I'm There! Last year I missed out...Not This Year!

I guess it's not too unique, but we've had to break ice a few times to get to our campsites on trout opener. More than once we've only been able to fish/camp on portions of trout lakes.

Not very unique, but a group of us has been staying at the same hotel in Brule for the last 8 years. I don't get to go every year, but I'll be there this year.

Catch & release opener for streams in SE MN is less than a month away. Since no one mentioned this opener, maybe I'll be lucky and be the only one out there. Of course the way things look outside right now the streams might still be dirty from snow melt yet at that time.

Sorry Mark I don't think you'll be that lucky. It looks like it will be a good chance to fish some smaller streams that are usually running crystal clear.
