blues?

has stocking blue catfish ever been tried in minnesota. is there something about them that wouldnt allow them to exist up here. arent they a lot like channels. just wondering what you guys know about it.

I know the channel cats, small ones are much more willing to feed on more variety of food source. I think that makes it easier for them to grow bigger, faster. Maybe water temps might have some thing to do with it.

The link above talks about an attempt back in 77 to stock Blue cats in the Lower St.Croix. Blues are similar to channels in some ways, but for some reason they don't take to the waters up here.

Unfortunately have not been any confirmed sightings from anyone in the last 20 years.
