buying used wheel house questions

Thinking of buying a used wheel house. What do I look for structurally? I am concerned about if it would have alot of miles on it. If it is a well known, long time manufacturer is it better? I would look for one that is only a couple years old. Would I be better off buying a new shell and finishing it myself? Thanks for any help.
