Guest
Can anyone share their experience with the Vexilar FL-18? I just sold my Zercom Clearwater Classic, and am looking to get a Vex. The Zercom worked okay, but never was really good at picking up a tiny teardrop in water much deeper than 12'. I normally don't ice fish in water deeper than 50', and more often in 20 - 35'. I need to order one ASAP as the temp finally broke here in SW Michigan and ice will be forming quickly (with any luck). I don't want to be fishing blind, but want to know if the extra $90 for the FL-18 is worthwhile or would be better spent on barley sodas. Tight lines and flyin' flags![This message has been edited by farginicehole (edited 12-28-2001).]
Mankato-Ice-Man
I am going through the same exact thing right now. I had the chance to by a used FL8 for $190.00 or wait a few weeks and get an FL18 at Reeds or Cabelas. From what I have read and such, I am thinking the 18 will work great for the water depth that you are talking about. Its seems that the 18 is plenty versitle to that water depth.I fish in about 20 feet or so myself, and I am going with the 18.Not sure if that helps you or not, just my .02.Jeremy------------------Born to Fish, Forced to Work!
