The Yeti
Has anyone heard of a fish called a Salmon Shark? If so, how do they taste? Got a couple steaks from a friend. Have not tried them yet..
fishermann222
They are suppose to taste pretty good I guess. I have not been salmon shark fishing though. We caught one last year on a long line out here in the Bering sea and released it. Most guys I know that catch them out of Cordova release them also. It seems alot of guys from the lower 48 do keep them though, so they must taste alright I guess.Try them and let us know.
setterguy
I've had them and they taste pretty good. I would call it watered down salmon...the meat is actually pink from all the salmon that they eat. The guide we fished with out of Seward had a woman catch one the day before, 17' 480 lbs if I remember right. She gave him the fish as a tip, he said it was good meat and it was. Interesting little tid bit about that story, it was that lady's first fish of any kind ever. I think I might just have to hang it up after drilling a 480 lber right away.
