Garmin gps map76

has anyone experinced this problem with there handheld gps i installed new battery;s and also tried it off of the 12v power cord when i turn the unit on it comes on for a minute and then shuts off. unit is 4 years old but i;ve never had any problems with the unit before. Any ideas?????

Actually yes, my buddy had a simlar problem with his Map 72. It ended up being one of the buttons was stuck down. Dont know if thats your problem or not but worth a check. Try pushing each button and see if you can feel if it is the same as the others.

Contact Garmin. I found their support to be very good. You might have to send it in but they've taken care of me.
