Sergeant Slabber
Will it hurt anything if I charge the battery on my EFI sled while it's all hooked up, or should I remove it to charge it? I just put it on the other night, but with this cold it might be done for. Thanks!
tashit
My manual (93 EXT 550 EFI) says to disconnect the battery or it may hurt the EFI.
Sergeant Slabber
Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. Not that it's a tough process, just kind of a pain in the arse
lawdog
I don't think you'd ever see any vehicle manufacturer or battery charger manufacturer ever tell you its OK to charge a battery while its connected to any type vehicle.
SledNeck
There are different charging methods if the battery is under a certain voltage.
ArcticCat21
If it is on an Arctic Cat you can charge the battery as long as the key and kill switch are shut off. I do it all the time. Just be sure not to let the positive side of the battery make contact with any ground.
Sergeant Slabber
Thanks for the replies! It is an Arctic Cat Mountaincat Wildcat 700 EFI, lots of "cats" in there! I was thinking about that. As long as everthing is shut off, I don't know what it would hurt by charging it while it's hooked up. I did disconnect it last night to charge it, but it would be nice to just leave it in place.
