How about none of the above?
Here on the Red at Lockport, fresh cut goldeye is the bait of choice right now and through most of the year. It was sucker, and later in the summer and fall it'll be frogs. Shrimp is always a standby if you can't catch goldeye or we aren't guiding you from Stu's "Cats on the Red" because then we worry about it and you just reel 'em in.
By the way, the bite is still going strong up here. 4 hrs. yesterday for me, 29 fish over 36"; one triple header was a 40" and two 39's. 4 hrs. today, 24 fish over 35". I've got tennis elbow from netting!!!
