Catmendo
Massive Lake Winnipeg could be Manitoba's best "ever" well kept secret's as far as incredible winter sport fisheries in concerned. How big is the prairie sea, it's recognized as the world's 10th largest fresh water lake and more importantly, it's infested with walleye, pike and a whole host of other species! You might find this next bit of trivia about the lake to much to comprehend but here's goes anyway. There's virtually no one sport fishing this giant winter or summer! Four of us were on the lake today seeing if we could locate some 'eyes and gators. We never set any records but we ended up icing a dozen 'eyes from 18 to 23 inches. We also managed to drop three more that had some weight. We never did get a run on a pike but we did catch a few perch and sauger, plus a couple of burbot too. During the entire session we only saw one other person on the lake who stopped by to say hello while out riding his snowmobile. If there's anyone interested in obtaining more information on this amazing sport fishery, shoot me a email, I'll be only to happy to assist!
