Ron Burgundy
What do you guys think. 1-1 1/4 oz of lead at 1550 flat slug or 385gr (.88 oz) at 1900 fps. That's a buckhammer vs a premier core lokt ultra. The latter worked for me this season. Knockdown vs extended range. Obviously there are different situations. carpshooterdeluxe
buckhammers work for me; and they retain alot of mass; ive got a nearly perfect buckhammer slug i recovered from my doe i shot this fall on my key chain. its just mushroomed back a little and missing a little lead where it hit the spine. Whoaru99
I think you pretty much hit the nail on the head - depends on the situation. If you need the extreme range then the choice is clear. If not, then it's a matter of preference. It's hard to discount the merits of big entrance/exit holes. Also, why spend $3 per shot for the super sabots if one doesn't really need what that gets you? If the range is moderate 50-75yds, I don't believe it matters much to the critter whether one shoots a 1-2" group with super sabots or a 4"-5" group with something less costly.
