simplefish
I live in Anoka. My grandmother is here from Montana. I have been to all my usual spots to find kitties but haven't had any success. I would like to get her on her first cat while she is here but have no boat. If anyone has an idea of a place on shore to plop a line in I would be grateful. I have tried cutbait, stinkbait, live minnows, and worms for mister kitty. I have tried the C.R. dam, where the rum and missy meet, and a few places down river of Anoka on the missy. Nothing seems to work. If anyone can help me out I would be very grateful. Thanks ahead.
Aquaman01
Since 5/21 the water has warmed up some. I'm getting my bigger channels on cutbait at dusk. Hope this isn't too late.
Lost
I've never used cutbait nor would I know how to cut it. I've heard chicken livers work quite well on cats. But where would I find those? I've found every kind of liver but chicken. Are you guys beating me to them in the stores?
Dennis Steele
There are no rules to cutbait. There are different ways that work better than others though. If your cutting up smaller suckers up to 12" or so I just chop them up steak like in 1" thick chunks.Larger suckers I fillet them and use 1"x2" chunks of fillet.Sometime bigger, depending on what the cats want.I usally find chicken liver in the frozen meat section at my grocery store. It comes in small yellow(Golden Plump) containers or white ones.I will bet its at you store also.Just ask a clerk.I like it best when it hasn't been frozen. My cousing used to work at the grocery store and would let me know when they got some fresh stuff in.That is the best.It stays on the hook much better when it hasn't been frozen.
