when does the seson turn on

Channels usually pick up Mid April, Flatheads usually a month later.

However it seems things are picking up sooner this year. I don't know if that is because of the low water and that the temps are climbing sooner or what. But If the trees are budding you can bet you will find me in full cat mode

I started catting last year. I fell in love with it right off the bat, no running around casting all day, staying out in poor weather, and my favorite kicking back talking smack and engoying a cold one. Anyway when do the cats get active I fish the mighty Miss from were the St. Criox dumps in to Lake Pepin. Any advice is appreciated.

Most Cats pick up when the water temp hits around 45-50*.. That is why when the water is starting to warm up the cats will be up by the shallows becasue it warms up a bit quicker.. now if we could get some sun and start staying warmer at night the water temps might start to pick up... Cross fingers.......
