Fluorescent camping lantern for ice fishing

I've got the Coleman 5317 that takes 8 'D' batteries. Works great for my Otter Cabin. Collapses for travel and well-protected. No waiting for cool-down. Lots of light and haven't changed batteries yet in 1-1/2 seasons already. I've thought about rigging up LED's like the ones talked about forever and a day on this site, but I walk on a lot and need something to light the way home anyway...

Big Pine Walleye can chime in here, too. I know he has the same model.

I have a rechargable fluorescent Coleman and a 12 light LED lantern with a reostat that uses 4 D cell batteries. After using both for ice fishing, I've pretty well been sold on the LED one. It now stays in the back of my pickup. The batteries last almost forever.
