Last year was my first year getting into cats and I'm still looking for a few spots myself. I found a couple last year and did pretty well. I live in Anoka and fish the Missy around here a bit. I could share one of em with ya if your interested, or we could head out, come soft water, and find a few new ones.

Has anyone ever caught a channel cat outa the Rum River? They got to be there right? I have never caught one (nor went for them either) and haven't heard of anyone catching any. Just wondering. I can't wait to get back in the MN for dem flatties!

I have caught them there, be it shore fishing where the Rum dumps into the miss, or in a boat further upstream. I have only up to the Ramsey area in the boat, but they are there and can be caught. I no longer have access to a boat anymore, so shore fishing will be my gig for a while, and what better fish to fish for than a catfish!!!
