Cheffrey and I got out for a little ice action yesterday on a few new lakes for us. We started out on Perch Lake to see if we could get a couple trout. We marked a few fish and had a few missed strikes but left empty handed. There was anywhere from 3 to 5 inches of ice in the area we fished, although most of the lake is unfishable. Next, we went over to the Pike Chain and fished Busky Bay. We set up for walleyes, but the pike kept out flags flying for most of the afternoon. We managed to catch a couple small ones and get broke and bit off a few times before it was time to call it a day. Not much luck, but both are gorgeous lakes that I'll probally give a second chance.

There was 4-6 inches everywhere we were, we made it out to about 25 ft of water, but fished mainly in 12-18 ft. Ice was solid and clear in most spots. I never realized how clear the pike chain is, you could see the bottom in nearly 20 ft.
