BIG Pike Lake

In your honest opinion- what is your favorite BIG pike lake to fish through the ice in MN besides Upper Red and LOTW?

Don't do much fishing for pike on Rainy besides with tip-ups once or twice, but we spear some big snakes up here. There is always reports of at least a few 20+ lb. fish caught or speared every year.

Asking pike guys to give up the name of their favorite pike lake is like asking if someone found a $100 bill.

I can only answer my favorites Red and LOTW of course and add Winnie, Mille Lacs, Minnetonka, Cass, Vermillion, Rainy, Pike Bay, Main Lake Leech, Steamboat and Miss river.

Jon- I appreciate your honesty and responce.

I have fished most of the mentioned waters (only a couple on several trips though). I just simply was asking peoples opinions. It's great to have 2 responces anyway. Isn't this about sharing opinions/information?

I have thrown back many pike over 40" caught through the ice in MN in recent years. I don't kill and mount prime spawners. I take great pictures, blow them up and make my own frames for the wall. I have even thrown back a 48 incher in NWT canada. I also do not spear.

So sharing information (to me anyway) is not going to take a trophy out of shared waters. At most it might give one a sore lip for a few days!

Alagnak - from prior i see - try prior. some nice pike come out of there every winter - got a few myself. tonka can be fun as well.
