DVR use with Scout issues

I have had one of the aqua-vu scouts for a year or two now, and recently picked up the DVR to attach. I notice that when I turn on the DVR (whether I am recording or not) the picture on the monitor gets washed out a bit and I can't see as far underwater. Turn the DVR off and it's back to normal. Any thoughts....Thanks

IF I had to guess, its battery.. I say that because the DVR uses a bit of power... try hooking it up to a new battery and I bet yoru problem goes away!

that is standard with the DVR and any camera. Charged battery or not. The reason it goes fuzzy. Is that you are losing a generation of video by going into the DVR. Now once you record and view the video it is crystal clear. It is just that you have lost a generation of viewing by going through something.

Thanks for the response guys. If I am understading JP correctly, the viewing (on computer) of the video should be of the same quality as if I were viewing the monitor on the water without the DVR on? I will check things out and post back. Thanks again!
