Is it worth it?

I'm looking at the Shappell ice shacks, either the standard models or deluxe, and wondering if it is worth it to spend the extra $60 to get canvas versus the poly tarp? Any thoughts?? Thanks!

Hey Ace and R_B you two should meet up I believe you live pretty close to each other. Just a thought. My brother in law has the tarp type and has used it for atleast6 years and he really likes it I have the poly and think that is pretty darn good as well. No holes after 3 years so not too bad!

I have the shappel 4000.. very good house, only complaint is NO VENT... I have to unzip the door for ventalation. The tarp material has held up well, and it heats up great in the sunlight which is a bonus because I dont need a heater if the sun is out even when its really cold.

If the canvas doesnt have a vent.. I would say save your money.

I have been looking at the Rover 2.0DX, and have heard good things. But I am not sure how I tell if it comes with canvas or poly... The one listed on reeds looks like blue nylon, is that the poly type or canvas?

Also, it seems the frame is shockcorded... won't that wear out? I also like the Otter Medium Cabin, but the price is much higher when you add in all the "options" that are standard on the Shappell. Am I comparing apples to apples?

Thanks for any info, and to Lou for the info he already gave me.
