Yes, but licenses had to be purchased by October 31st for the 2007 season. $65 for nonresidents.

I guess I found that out the other day about buying them early. Still planning on next yr though. Having not done it b4 how would a person go about it. Who would help me out with advice about things like bait/attracters, other equipment. I spear pike here in mn but don't know if I'd need a different spear or what.

You'd probably need a different spear. The sturgeon spears are heavy w/ thick tines. There's a place called 'Wendt's on the Lake' between Oshkosh and Fond Du Lac that rents houses, has an access, and is a registration station for the season; they should be able to provide some information.
