marcum lx-3

Pary

Question

i'm new to marcum n bought one recently. can anybody tell me how to use the zoom mode. i know it splits the screen in half, 12-6 is whole water column, 6-12 is 5fow or 10fow water from which ever you choose to zoom on the whole water column. Just not sure how to read it well such as depth, color display signal? any help would be appreciated or better yet is the a HSOforum or link of someone showing me how to use this marcum n how exactly it works?

read that already.... how would you use zoom on suspended fish? maybe something is wrong with my marcum. i fished last night in about 15fow, set it to 20ft, hit zoom button once, should read 5fow. gain set at about 2 enough to show my lure/bait but right hand screen reads bottom like half way up n i'm sure its not suspended fish cause the left hand side zoom i can see my bait n the bottom. am i reading this wrong or something? not quite understanding the zoom cause i thought that whenever you hit the zoom buttom n split the screen in half the right hand side should be top water from 12 o'clock to 6 o'clock with 6 always being the bottom. that is my understanding from reading the manual. whenever you use zoom feature is 6 o'clock on right hand side always gonna be bottom depth? sorry for the long confusing and question..

as the 2 posts above state... youhave to hit the down button.. when you hit the zoom button it will start as the waters surface.. when you hold the button down you will see two gold or yellow lines on the right side of your screen.. that is your zoom area.. hold th edown button or up button to zoom in on the area you want to fish!

When it is in zoom mode. The right half is the entire water column starting at 12:00 to 6:00. The left half is the zoomed area with the top at 6:00 and the bottom at 12:00. When you turn on the zoom, the zoom window is always 5' and at the top of the water column. If you push the zoom button again it will show a 10' window. There are 2 buttons located just right of the ZM buttom. One is labeled UP and the other DN. If you push and hold the DN button, you will see 2 flashing yellow lights. They will show you where the zoom is located in the water column. If you are fishin suspended fish, put your targets between the flashing yellow lines and they will be zoomed! As far as the colors go, the deepest large red spot will be bottom. When a target (fish) comes in, the bigger the target, the more signal it will return. Green is a week return (smaller fish), yellow is stronger, and red is the strongest (big fish grin.gif). I hope this helps. confused.gif

Thanks for the help guys!!! I understand how to use the up n down buttons to zoom on whatever the right hand side water column i want to fish in. its just that i was a little confused when i went out last night n fished in about 15 fow n i select zoom n arrowed down to my lure n saw that my bottom on the right hand side was 3/4 of the way up from the 6 o'clock that suppose to be my bottom. so i put it back to normal mode which uses the whole screen saw the bottom n my lure, said ok, lets try this again. same thing? Is my bottom alway gonna be at 6 o'clock when in zoom mode? it didn't seem like it last night though my bottom seems to show at about 4 o'clock. is that possible?

Told you CNY Tim would walk you through any issues you had. Did the same for me, and it removed any guesswork for me. Got mine out for the first time this year last weekend..what a machine. Other posts offered have been right on the money...great advice by all.

Good luck!

    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
