Where to target

I've got a quick question, where on rivers do you target the cats? I look for good eatin' size channels, mostly because I use Junnies a lot, I have a tendancy to target the areas where two rivers join, or where a river is met with a small stream. I was thinking of hitting the area where the rum joins the Missy, or up in Elk River where the 2 rivers meet. Should I target deeper holes or the wood more. And can the cats be found up the smaller river or stream. Thanks ahead.

I could also use some advice on how to target the larger fish, do most of the larger fish eat more live bait or can they still be caught on stink bait. Thanks again.

I haven't targeted eaters for a few years but I think your on the right track.I have caught smaller fish actually in the creek mouths. The best spot seems to be the first hole upstream of the confluence.
As far as targeting big fish.Bait is one key.I like fresh cutbait.I often find bigger fish mid stream as the water warms holding on wood, boulders,or deep points on sand bars.
