Power Handles

Recommended Posts

Looking for off-season upgrades, and it sounds like power handles are a great way to "supercharge" existing reels, especially when throwing some of the larger baits. Which are the preferred handles of choice and where is the best place to get some?

I know its been discussed in past posts but the search on power or handles was not an easy one.

Thanks for the assist.

Hiya -

I'm an Abu-Garcia guy when it comes to reels so I can't say if they're available for other brands, but I have them on all my 6500-frame reels for muskie fishing. You can get them at Fleet Farm more often than not. Cost 12-15 bucks or so, and worth it and then some I think....

Cheers,

Thanks!

I'll check it out at Mills! The price is right, and I need something to do in the evenings already, not a good sign on Nov 30th.

Hey RK...is that Ewout Blom on the EA/Next Bite cover??? How did you get the pic? Story with it? Gotta pick that one up!

Thanks for steering me in the right direction.

Hey Cjac -

Hehe...man, it's going to be a LONG off-season if you're already tinkering with stuff smile.gif

Yeah, that's Ewout. We got about a dozen photos of that fish (besides the one that got emailed all over) plus a bunch of other huge Dutch pike from Jan Eggers. Jan has a story in the magazine about Dutch pike that's pretty neat. Shows what's possible with catch and release that's for sure...

Cheers,

Hiya -

That's when I knew Jan Eggers was on the up and up with the story about the fish...nobody can make up a name like Ewout... I think I'm gonna have a dog named Ewout sometime.

Yeah, I'll be at the ice show off and on between hockey practices and games. Working with the Fishing the WildSide guys (my 'other' editing gig) Look me up!
