Aqua Vu Scout question

I just bought a Scout and wondered if the cord holders on the sides do an adequate job of holding the camera steady in the intended direction. I was contemplating buying an Ice Pod (the manual one, not the motorized one), but didn't want to want to waste the money if it wasn't needed.

If you are using the Scout to sight fish, get the ice pod. It is virtually impossible to keep the camera pointed where you want it without a tripod. It gives you a visual reference for small changes of directions.

For the $14 give or take.. the Ice pod is WELL worth it! Trust me, I have tried a ton of different things, none work as well as the pod. save yourself the frustration.

I bought this one at Gander for $10 that looks like a hole cover, but you wrap the cord through little buckles similar to a cleat on a boat, then you just twist the whole thing to turn the camera.

I bought the cheap pod from Cabelas. A must have item in my opinion.
