Moses2531
I know how to gut out a trout and fill the stomach cavity with seasons and/or vegetables, but I was just curious if anyone had any suggestions as to any specific seasons or vegetables that taste great with a grilled trout? I've used green pepper slices, and it tasted fine, just wondering if there were better things out there... Thanks!
Tom Linderholm
Moses, if you are grilling the trout just about any vegetable grilled would go along fine with it. I typically will serve roasted potatoes mixed with roasted vegetables to any grilled or baked trout I do. Guess it kinda goes back to eating it while camping as we normally just make grill packs and put it over the fire as we cook the fish.Fresh Dill and Lemon go great with trout, along with blackening spices. I've even made up wild rice flour and crusted the trout with it. Just grind your raw wild rice in a coffee grinder and mix with seasoned flour. It's a pretty open fish to work with flavorwise. Do some searching through past posts to find some well composed recipe's over the past years.
