best hunt of the season!!

I'd my best hunt this season on Sunday!!! Knowing that it was going to be really cold come morning, made it out to the lake early to bust ice! bust open a 20yd by 20yd opening in the ice and set up a dozen decoys! Didn't see very much action between and begining of shooting time and 9:30, but then the birds really started to move! I mean I have had so many birds work my decoy spread. A flock a mallards of 20+ birds work would make their way of the lake into the spread about every 30mins, almost to the minute it was kinda weird! The first couple flocks would circle a couple of times and then would take off. I decide to remove my mojo from the spread, and then the birds had no problem coming in!! Another thing I notice with the mallards is that they would give off the feeder chuckle right before landing or when the would circle right before landing, So I used it to my advantage!! When the ducks would be like a 100 yds or so out I would use a 5 note and when they would be circling i would use the feeder call and seem to help out alot! Anyways ended up get a 3 man limit of mallards out a 3 guys with only one suzy done, young hunters mistake

There was one other group out on the lake that I was at, but they left and like 8:45 and I guess they missed out on a lot!!!

Sweet hunt. There is nothing better than breakin a hole in the ice and getting those fat malls in extra close. We have had some great shoots during freeze up. Its a little more work with big rewards! Got any pics?

yep, I got some pics, but I don't know when I'll be able to get them developed. I don't have a digital camera yet, but plan on getting one soon! I also forgot to mention the 2 bands we also got too!
